RACISM & THE HUMAN SOCIETY

RACISM & THE HUMAN SOCIETY

Pigmentation refers to the colouring of the skin. Melanin is made by cells in the skin and is the pigment responsible for one’s skin's colour. People with darker skin tones are more prone to hyper-pigmentation, especially with excess sun exposure. Many forms of hyper-pigmentation are caused by an excess production of melanin.

Human skin colour ranges in variety from the darkest to the lightest hues. An individual's skin pigmentation is the result of genetics, being the product of both of the individual's biological parents' genetic makeup and exposure to sun. In evolution, skin pigmentation in human beings evolved by a process of natural selection primarily to regulate the amount of ultraviolet radiation penetrating the skin, thus controlling its biochemical effects.

But this cannot in any way be the reason of any kind of hatred & discrimination between human individuals. Society is only a larger image of an individual family. As much as a family suffers if any individual member of that family is affected somehow or the other, so much so the society also suffers if any individual member of the society is affected in any way. Brotherhood/Sisterhood is that divine resource that can bring welfare and wellbeing in a civilized society. If this trend of hatred & discrimination between humans continues further for one reason or the other, be it caste, colour, creed, nationality and faith, then that day is not far behind where the whole human society will collapse with no one around to help each other. We must always remember that we humans are ‘social animals’ & can’t live without a society.

Therefore, preserving the society is of utmost importance through help, assistance and friendship for the human race to flourish further.
