COTIGAO WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Goa is not only about beaches but also about splendidly virid biospheres. Near the southern end of Goa bordering the state of Karnataka, there lies a 110 sq km of emerald stretch called the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. Home to Leopard, Sloth Bear, Sambar, Chital, Porcupine and Pangolin, this is the second largest sanctuary of the state offering a calm and unspoiled atmosphere, regardless of the exotic beaches for which the state is famous. Accessibility : An 88kms drive takes one to the sanctuary from Panaji. Accommodation : Forest Rest House is available inside the Park. Season : October to June.
