NELAPATTU WILDLIFE SANCTUARY In the foothills of the Eastern Ghats along the River Godavari, lies the sprawling Nelapattu Wildlife Sanctuary of over 590 sq km of mixed deciduous forests. Rich in Tiger, Leopard, Indian Wolf and Chausingha, this virgin sanctuary is a tranquil destination for a laid-back sojourn as well as a thrilling adventure. Accessibility : The railway station of Rajahmundry on the major Kolkata-Chennai rail route is only 80kms away from the Park. Rajahmundry is well connected by road and rail from Chennai (580kms), Visakhapattanam (205kms) and Hyderabad (460kms). The Park can be approached easily from Rajahmundry by road. Accommodation : There are Forest Rest Houses inside the sanctuary. Season : November to April.
