ETURNAGARAM WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

ETURNAGARAM WILDLIFE SANCTUARY Formed in 1953 AD, this vast sanctuary of over 812 sq km stretches over the three states of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. The flora is mixed deciduous. The sanctuary houses a huge population of fauna and avifauna. The carnivores include Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Jackal, Jungle Cat and Leopard Cat while the herbivores consist of Chausingha, Chinkara, Mouse Deer and Black Buck. The Forest Department arranges jeep safaris in the dawn and at dusk. Accessibility : The sanctuary is 190kms from Warangal and can be reached by car. Warangal , on the other hand, is well connected by rail from cities like Hyderabad , Chennai and Delhi . Regular bus services are also available from Hyderabad , which is just 150kms southwest of Warangal . Accommodation : Forest Rest Houses are available inside the sanctuary. Season : November to May.
